No passwords, no 2FA. SIM swap is not impossible in Australia but it's a harder barrier than the USA. Many of us have 2FA outside of phone number, (I have totp on qff) so while this is highly displeasing at this stage I personally feel it's mostly privacy risk.
Professional and public Liability insurance in the supply chain is going to get a lot more expensive before this kind of risk goes away.
